DRUMS
Sean holds a PhD in Music from the University of London (Royal Holloway), and currently teaches musicology at CSULB. His university performance record has ranged widely, from orchestral and world percussion ensembles, to jazz and rock combos, to directing Medieval & Renaissance choral music.
There are many ways to play the drums, and Sean’s teaching method embraces this by working with the student to determine weekly, midrange, and longterm goals that capture the student’s own interest and aspirations. By working through songs and fun exercises catered to these goals, Sean’s students learn to have strong rhythm, musical sensitivity, good technique, and sharp reading skills that will ultimately help them to become self-reliant musicians in any style.
