Gracelyn was awarded a full-tuition scholarship, thanks to the Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation, to attend Cal State Long Beach. In the spring of 2019 she graduated with honors, receiving a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies with an emphasis in voice, trombone, and composition. She then went on to earn a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University in the fall of 2020. Currently, Gracelyn is a full-time educator and musician living in the beautiful Central Coast of California. This fall she will continue her education with the pursuit of a Master’s Degree.
When it comes to educating, Gracelyn has experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Her teaching style largely emphasizes fun, while simultaneously encouraging her students to work hard and take their musicianship seriously, no matter their age. She strives to build up young passionate musicians who will carry their love for music and the arts with them throughout their lives.
